Air Quality Tests Conducted at IMS, NAMS and Franklin

Recent temperature fluctuations caused roof leaks at Independence Middle School, Neil Armstrong Middle School, and Benjamin Franklin Elementary, prompting emergency repairs. The leaks resulted from the rapid expansion and contraction of the schools’ aging roofs.

The Bethel Park School District prioritizes student and staff safety, so while crews work to repair these leaks, the school district recently hired a certified air quality testing agency to conduct comprehensive tests in each affected building. Charles Bove, Director of Environmental Services at Allegheny Global Environmental, performed the tests and confirmed that none of the tested areas showed signs of mold.

District officials continue to monitor and address the situation to ensure safe learning environments.
